The farm is at its most beautiful right now.

The forests are in a fiery fall glow. The pastures are rich and luscious, a deep dark shade of green. And the animals?

Every last one of them (except for the young hens who are hanging out near the Farm Store as they get the hang of egg-laying) is rotationally grazing like crazy right now.

The pigs, chickens and turkeys alike cooperate quite nicely with all this. By this time of year actually, it’s become a routine.

The pigs are absolutely the most endearing to watch. On a good day, they look like a group of synchronized swimmers, rushing through the gap in the fence line into their new paddock in perfect unison.

Once they hit the new ground, they start munching away, rolling around, and shaking their heads as if they’re breaking it down on nature’s most divine dance floor.

On a bad day, there are a few stragglers who take a little extra time to get the picture. The turkeys have historically been more prone to this cluelessness, but Greg tells me they’re crushing it when it comes to their twice-weekly rotations, too.

Greg gets asked what he likes most about his career path often. And I know from hearing his response over the past 8 years, that he conjures up moments like this in his mind when answering.

When I look around and see it all in action – and appreciate the journey from our pasture to your plates – it really is magical!

Your Farmers,
Jenney & Greg
